The Coral Reefs are Dying
1 x 52' Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is wonderful, beautiful – and alive. But soon, it may be one of the few remaining live coral reefs, for the coral reefs around the world are dying.
This film examines the plight of the coral reefs and the environmental degradation that is threatening some of the most amazing living structures on earth.
Scientists predict that a third of the world’s coral reefs will be dead within 20 years and two-thirds will be dead within 40 years. 10% of the worlds’ coral reefs are already dead. The causes are many, but it is mostly from man’s interference with nature.
Ben Cropp travels around the world to assess the state of all coral reefs. Ben has been diving on these coral reefs for the past 40 years, and it truly saddens him to see such beautiful corals dying.
